<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at low cost a peeling tool that facilitates setting of an optical cable and that peels a part of the coating to expose a tear cord, without damaging communication wires, by merely moving the tool straight in the longitudinal direction of the optical cable. <P>SOLUTION: An optical cable peeling tool 1 is provided, that peels a part of the coating 3 of an optical cable 6, in which a tension member line 4 and a tear cord 5 are imbedded in the coating 3 surrounding the communication wires 2, to expose the tear cord 5. The peeling tool 1 is constituted of a plane blade 7 for peeling the coating 3 of the optical cable 6, a cable holder 8 for elastically pressing the optical cable 6 toward the plane blade 7, an energizing means 9 for elastically pressing the cable holder 8 toward the plane blade 7, and a tool body 10, equipped with these constituents and made into a U shape in cross section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
