PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure for AC generator that is capable of maintaining cooling capability during running through a simple construction. SOLUTION: A heat shield plate 30 formed of a thin plate member is attached to an AC generator 7 installed on a power transmission case 14 provided on the upper face of a crank case 8. The AC generator 7 is so disposed that its input shaft rotatably supported by a casing 16 is substantially in parallel with the direction of the length of a vehicle body. The surface of the casing 16 is provided between the front part of the vehicle body and an intake port 22 for taking in outside air with an exhaust port for exhausting air used for cooling. The heat shield plate 30 erected between the exhaust port and the intake port 22 is provided with a folded back portion directed toward the front part of the vehicle body. Thus, exhaust gas from the exhaust port is guided toward the front part of the vehicle body. Therefore, the exhaust gas is prevented from being taken into the intake port 22 as is at high temperature, and thus the cooling capability of the AC generator 7 is maintained.
