PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug and its manufacturing method capable of preventing the occurrence of the defective bonding of a main fitting by preventing the displacement of a flexible member mounted to a central shaft in inserting the central shaft into a shaft hole of the main fitting in a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: A knurl-shaped locking portion 35 is formed on the outer peripheral face of the tip 31 of the central shaft 30 of the glow plug, and the inner peripheral face of the tip 91 of a tube 90 mounted to the central shaft 30 can be locked on the locking portion 35. In the manufacturing process of the glow plug, the tube 90 is mounted to the central shaft 30, and the central shaft 30 is inserted into the shaft hole of the main fitting. The tube 90 locked to the locking portion 35 is not displaced even if the tube 90 is kept into contact with the main fitting in its insertion. Thus the main fitting can be bonded to a cylindrical body holding a ceramic heater without making the tube 90 entangled into their bonding part, and the defective bonding can be surely prevented.
