PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure vessel having excellent pressure tightness and capable of reducing its weight more than a conventional pressure vessel. SOLUTION: In this pressure vessel 300 made of light metal and constituted by tightening and fixing two vessel constituent bodies (31 to 33) having a bolt hole 332 or more through a bolt 20, at least a part of a peripheral wall part of the bolt hole 332 of one vessel constituent body or more is made of a metallic composite material made of light metal being matrix and a plate-like iron member 10 buried into the light metal, made of iron as a main component, and having many through holes passing through front and rear surfaces. It is preferable to use a hole drilled plate member having an insertion hole 12 having inside diameter larger than inside diameter of the bolt hole 332, passing through front and rear surfaces, and arranged coaxially with the bolt hole 332 as the iron member 10. Since this pressure vessel is light in weight and has excellent pressure tightness, it is the optimum for, in particular, a front housing 33 of a compressor 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
