PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding implement for enabling a bound object to be sufficiently opened for viewing without sliding an attached front cover sideways. SOLUTION: The binding device 610 comprises a first body 654 having a first binding bar 652, a second body 658 having a second binding bar 656 laid on the first binding bar 652, and a fixing means for fixing the first body 654 and the second body 658 with the interval between the first binding bar 652 and the second binding bar 656 shortened. The fixing means has a holding means for holding the first body 654 and the second body 658 with the second binding bar laid on the first binding bar and with the interval between the first body 654 and the second body 658 extended. The first body 654 and the second body 658 are provided with the holding means for fixing them with both binding bars laid as above and with the interval therebetween extended.
