摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method for configuring a global network-layer address of a mobile node in a network with multiple networks access entities. The MN attaches to the network and utilizes a link-local address for communicating with the network. The MN is connected to a router, which is connected to the multiple network access entities and includes a list, comprising prefix and performance information on each network access entity. To expedite the address configuration of the MN, the router is enabled to generate a global network-layer address configuration message for the MN without prior reception of a router solicitation message from the MN. Furthermore, said configured address is based on the most preferable network access entity in the network, by providing said updated list and selecting the best network access entity. Further, the invention relates to a router, network access entity and system implementing the respective methods.</p>
