PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink jets having both excellent fixing properties and long-term preservation stability, to provide an ink set for the ink jets, to provide an ink tank for the ink jets, to provide a method for ink-jet recording and to provide an apparatus for ink-jet recording.

SOLUTION: The ink for the ink jets comprises at least colorant particles, a water-soluble organic solvent and water. The colorant particles are composed by coating the peripheries of core particles with a coating layer or attaching additive particles to the peripheries of the core particles. The core particles are composed by including a resin material having ≤75°C glass transition temperature (Tg).
