<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in an integrated circuit by properly controlling a power supply voltage to be supplied in response to a supply state of an external power supply. <P>SOLUTION: The integrated circuit is operated by applying either one of the external power supply supplying a first power supply voltage or an internal power supply supplying a second power supply voltage with a level lower than the first power supply voltage. A power supply voltage monitoring part is provided to carry out control such that a level of the first power supply voltage supplied from the external power supply is monitored to determine whether the first power supply voltage from the external power supply is supplied or not, the first power supply voltage is applied if it is determined that the first power supply voltage is supplied, and the second power supply voltage is applied if it is determined that the first power supply voltage is not supplied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
