PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of pattern matching of an object. SOLUTION: A scanning region is set (step S100). First-eighth candidate regions are set (step S102). An amplification factor is detected in an AFE (analog front end) (step S103). The amplification factor is compared to a first threshold (step S104). If the amplification factor exceeds the first threshold, a G signal component of a pixel block is generated (step S105). If the amplification factor is less than the first threshold, RGB signal components of the pixel block are generated (step S106). First-eighth determination values are calculated on the basis of the scanning region and the G signal component and the RGB signal components in the pixel blocks the first-eights candidate regions. A single candidate region is selected among the first-eighth candidate regions on the basis of the first-eighth determination values. The selected candidate region is re-set as a scanning region.
