PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact continuously variable transmission device capable of efficiently transmitting high torque. SOLUTION: The continuously variable transmission device is composed of a first rotary shaft 7 rotatably supported on a casing 10, a second rotary shaft 6 rotatably supported on the casing 10, a V-pulley 4 supported on the first rotary shaft 7 in a state that its width is variable, a toothed ring 3 engaged with the V-pulley 4 and supported at its outer periphery, a pinion 2 secured to the second rotary shaft 6 and engaged with teeth of the toothed ring 3, and a mechanism for moving the toothed ring 3 about the second rotary shaft 6. The toothed ring 3 and the pinion 2 are double-helical gears and each has a double-split structure which is separated in two parts in such a manner that crests thereof are continuous with each other at the abutment portion therebetween.
