PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for monitoring a belt guide at the side with wear resistance and stain resistance. SOLUTION: The device monitors a side guide for a belt R which is guided through rollers R1-R6 in a loop S centering on a core H for forming a lap roll WW. The core is held between two winding disks W1, W2, and the device 10 comprises a probe element 12 supported to be movable in a direction of a belt side edge part Rs through a spring 22. A sensor 44 for detecting the movement of the probe element is connected to a sensor unit ST, and the probe element and the spring 22 are at least partially surrounded by a casing 16. A probe head 13, provided with a probe face 14, of the probe element is projected in a direction of a side edge part of the belt from an opening 18 of the casing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
