PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device for cutting a textile or a steel rope strip without dropping the connection strength of a butted connection portion of cut strip ends. SOLUTION: In the cutting device for cutting a strip material, especially a textile or a steel rope strip, including a cutting means relatively movable with respect to the stationary strip material as a component, the cutting means includes: a cutter (6) having a rounded blade (49) for making a cut on an end of the strip; and a single double-edged cutter (56) having a hook cutter (18) or an arcuate blade (63) and a hooke-shaped blade (64), which follows the cutter, enters the cut and divides the strip material (2).
