When a vehicle is suspended at a guidance point and no guidance information to be conveyed to the user is present, power supply to a display is cut off to save power consumption. When a vehicle comes close to a preset guidance point, a navigation device informs leading guidance on the basis of the guidance information. The navigation device judges whether the vehicle is suspended according to positioning information. Also, the navigation device judges whether all the guidance information to be conveyed to the user has been provided. The navigation device cuts off the power supply to the display to save the power consumption when it has judged that the vehicle is suspended after the provision of all the guidance information.
