<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer detergent builder which can effectively inhibit the deposition of a surfactant even if washing using the water of high hardness and can inhibit re-contamination of staining effectively. <P>SOLUTION: A hydrocarbon group-containing graft polymer is obtained by carrying out graft polymerization of a monomer component including a hydrophilic monomer having an anionic group or a hydroxy group with a polyoxyalkylene-based compound expressed by formula (1).
