PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus and a radio communication method which improve the operability of the user. SOLUTION: When a power-on button is depressed (Yes in S302), an infrared communication unit sends a control signal of a power-on signal to a contents reproducer (S303), and a Bluetooth communication unit also starts bootstrapping. A CPU decides whether the Bluetooth communication unit starts communication (S304), and, if a user gives an operation input (Yes in S305) before the Bluetooth communication unit starts the communication (No in S304), the infrared communication unit sends a control signal.
