PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile transmission system that can prevent mistransmission to a transmission destination not related at all because only a transmission destination registered in advance can be designated as the transmission destination in the case of facsimile transmission and can prevent in advance mistransmission due to wrong transmission contents in addition to the destination error because a third party (acknowledger) confirms not only the transmission destination but also the transmission contents and approves the transmission, and to provide a facsimile server used therefor. SOLUTION: The facsimile transmission system is provided with: a facsimile reader for reading facsimile transmission paper and outputting read facsimile electronic data to an acknowledger request terminal; the acknowledger request terminal for selecting the acknowledger requester, facsimile transmission destination, and an acknowledger from a DB of a facsimile server registering them and transmitting the selected information items to the facsimile server together with facsimile electronic data as acknowledger request information; the facsimile server that stores the acknowledger request information transmitted from the acknowledger request terminal to the DB, informs the acknowledger terminal of the acknowledger about the existing of request information, requests the acknowledger terminal to discriminate propriety of facsimile transmission, and transmits facsimile document by a telephone line when receiving the reply of transmission OK; and the acknowledger terminal for receiving the notice of the request information from the facsimile server and returning a result of the discrimination of the facsimile transmission propriety to the facsimile server.
