PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for rendering webpage HTML data into a format suitable for display on a mobile station. SOLUTION: The apparatus, for use in a mobile station 111 having predetermined capabilities, for rendering webpage HTML data into reformatted data that is suitable for rendering on a display of the mobile station 111 comprises: a memory 270 that contains downloaded webpage HTML data, an HTML filter and an HTML translation script; and a controller 240, coupled to the memory 270, that is capable of executing the HTML filter to generate the reformatted data from the webpage HTML data in response to the HTML translation script and the predetermined capabilities, and further capable of rendering the reformatted data on the screen.
