PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material having high sensitivity and low fog, excellent in illuminance failure characteristics, light resistance of an image and silver tone, and excellent also in raw stock preservability, and to provide an image forming method of a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material using the above silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material. SOLUTION: The silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material has an image forming layer containing a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive aliphatic carboxylic acid silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on one surface of a support, wherein gelatin having an average molecular weight of≤500,000 is used for preparing the photosensitive silver halide, the photosensitive silver halide is a surface latent image type one in exposure and is converted to an internal latent image type one after heat development, and at least one specific bisphenol compound is contained as the reducing agent.
