PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-magnification zoom lens system having a large angle of view. SOLUTION: Provided is the zoom lens system 10 with five groups, comprising positive, negative, positive, positive and positive groups from an object side. The third lens group G3 is constituted of a cemented lens CL3 comprising a positive lens L31 and a negative lens L32, and a positive lens L33 in order from the object side, and the fourth lens group G4 is constituted of a positive lens L41 and a cemented lens CL4 comprising a negative lens L42 and a positive lens L43 in order from the object side. When varying power from a wide angle end to a telephoto end, the first lens group G1 and the fifth lens group G5 do not move, and focusing is performed by the fifth lens group G5.
