PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion portion for endoscopes for acquiring an excellent durability for both a treatment instrument insertion channel and illuminating optical fiber bundles which are susceptible to damage due to bending out of various embedded articles in the insertion portion for endoscopes using a flexible tube frame body formed by rotatably coupling a plurality of joint rings, instead of a helical tube, by a coupling axis. SOLUTION: The treatment instrument insertion channel 23 and the illuminating optical fiber bundles 22 are respectively placed in positions facing the inner end surfaces of the coupling axes 13 or in their vicinities. The coupling axes 13 are positioned on a straight line X1 which passes a position 0 of the central axis line of the flexible tube frame bodies 12, 13 and the central position of insertion channel 23 or in the vicinity and on straight lines X2, X3 which pass the position 0 of the central axis line of the frame bodies 12, 13 and the central positions of the illuminating optical fiber bundles 22 or in their vicinities.
