PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular power supply system, capable of discriminating whether malfunctions are being produced in a voltage detection function, by detecting breaks in a reference connection line using a simple circuit configuration, thereby performing charging and discharging of battery modules, while protecting them. SOLUTION: This vehicular power supply system includes a running battery 11, where a plurality of battery modules 2 are connected to the positive and negative sides of a reference point 8, and the battery modules 2 on the positive and negative sides are connected serially through a contact point 7; a voltage detection circuit 3, for detecting the voltage at the connection point 7 relative to the reference point 8, which is connected to the connection point 7 via a detection switch 12 and connected to the reference point 8 of the running battery 1 via a reference connection line 9; and a control circuit 6 for switching on and off a detection switch 12. The voltage detection circuit 3 detects a break in the reference connection line 9, according to change in the voltage detected at the connection point 7, when the detection switch 12 is switched to on and off.
