PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for improving power control in communication signals and for enabling proper and periodic calibration of correction tables with respect to an input signal for communication transmission. SOLUTION: In a method for signal power ramp-up in communication, first of all, in step 210, a plurality of payload data are identified for transmission. Next, in step 220, a power reference signal is determined for transmission prior to the payload data. In step 230, the power reference signal and the payload data are then combined to form a data burst. In step 240, the data burst is transmitted with the power reference signal being transmitted prior to the payload data within the data burst. In step 250, a feedback signal is provided based on the power reference signal portion of the transmitted data burst and in step 260, a pre-distortion signal is calibrated based on the feedback signal.
