PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a count time of an apparatus for counting components. SOLUTION: In a simultaneous use period of a large supply means and a minute supply means (S1-S5), a drive start timing of the minute supply means is delayed by a prescribed time (T1; a first time elapses since a reference timing). The prescribed time is preferably varied increasingly or decreasingly in response to errors of the component supply number of the large supply means. As a result, the remaining supply number at the time of completing the simultaneous use period can be made appropriate in response to the errors of component supply number of the large supply means, and the length of a single use period of the minute supply means after completing the simultaneous use period can be optimized. Furthermore, counting a target number of components can be completed at the fastest speed, while taking advantages of both merits of the large supply means (high supply capability) and the minute supply means (less component supply error).
