PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the opening/closing operation of a projected window and attain reliable locking. SOLUTION: This opening/closing device for a projected window comprises a pedestal 5 fixed to a window frame 3 and formed with a through hole 7, and a projecting arm 6 slidably inserted through the through hole 7, with the tip connected to a projecting sash 4. The opening/closing device can be switchingly operated between an open state of the window and a locked state obtained by sliding the projecting arm 6 in an indoor direction, retracting the indoor side end of a sash connecting plate 9 against the energizing force of a spring member further from a state of abutting on a stepped part 20 formed in the through hole 7, releasing engagement between an engaging protrusion part 16 and an engaging hole 17c, turning an arm body 8 onto the lock position space 21 side in a state of positioning a lock position regulating protrusion part 11 to a recessed groove 10 of the arm body 8, and pulling the arm body 8 into the pedestal 5 side by the energizing force of the spring member 19 in a stage where the recessed groove 10 goes over the lock position regulating protrusion part 11, to hold the arm body 8 out of turning by the lock position regulating protrusion part 11.
