The handle has a metal insert (14) with an attachment section (30) for attaching a handle (12) at a cooking container e.g. stew pan, where a section (25) of the insert is formed to be flat. A section (27) of the insert is formed based on a shape of the handle. The section (30) has a connector (34) for retaining a screw that is guided to the container, where the handle is fastened using the screw. The insert has a notch, where a molded part (16) made of phenolic resin, is formed over the insert around the notch such that the part has a recess aligning with the connector. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a handle for a cookware or cooking container.
