The machine (1) has a printing unit with a printing plate cylinder (2), and an anilox-inking system (4) with a grid roller (6), an ink application roller (7) and a scraper-ink duct (15). An agitating unit is arranged in the scraper-ink duct in a protruding manner. The anilox-inking system is assigned to the printing plate cylinder, and the agitating unit is reciprocately supported in a direction, which is axially parallel to the grid roller. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a printing machine.
