The injector has an injection valve (3) for opening and closing an injection port (2), where movement of the valve is controlled by an actuator (49). The control valve (18) opens or closes a passage (16) from a control area (15) into a reverse flow line. The injection valve lifts from its seat (4) during opening of the passage so as to open the injection port. The port is closed when the control valve is closed. The actuator is accommodated in an actuator space (52) in an upper housing part (53). The housing part has same temperature coefficient of expansion as the actuator.
