<p>A production method of a sealing honeycomb structure which can produce, simply and inexpensively, a sealing honeycomb structure, reduced in deposition of deposits on the end face of a filter or the like using the honeycomb structure, with a uniform sealing depth, especially a simple and uniform sealing depth by a slurry sealing material at the outer periphery of the honeycomb structure. The production method of a sealing honeycomb structure in which a sealing unit is formed at one opening end of a specified cell of a tubular honeycomb structure where a plurality of cells working as fluid flow paths are partitioned and formed in a honeycomb shape by porous partition walls, wherein a flexible porous member (2) impregnated in advance with a slurry sealing material (1) is pressed against the end faces (4a) of a honeycomb structure (4) to thereby fill the slurry sealing material (1) held on the flexible porous member (2) into the cell paths of the honeycomb structure (4) and form sealing portions (4b).</p> |
