<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbulent flow promoting structure of a cooling passage in which a heat transfer area is increased over an entire cooling surface area. <P>SOLUTION: The turbulent flow promoting structure 100 is formed in the passage 102 through which a fluid such as a cooling fluid flows in the flowing direction 104 and comprises a plurality of trip strips 106. The passage 102 is the cooling passage in a part 98 such as a turbine engine component. The adjacent trip strip 106 is so oriented as to be converged to each other at a first end, and forms a top part 108 and a triangular area 112 where turbulent flow occurs. The cooling fluid flows into the area 112 through the opening 110. The passage comprises a first wall 116 and a second wall 120 which face each other.
