PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device reducing a sense of incongruity of a driver during deceleration. SOLUTION: The vehicle control device is used for a vehicle with a torque converter 2 having a lockup clutch 2a and a continuously variable transmission 3. It actualizes the fastening of the lockup clutch 2a and the stop of fuel supply to an engine 1 during coast travel. It restricts the speed-ratio transmission speed of the continuously variable transmission 3 when the vehicle coast-travels with the lockup clutch 2a fastened and the fuel supply to the engine 1 stopped.
