PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which forms high definition images which rarely undergo a variation in a hue and a color drift by controlling discharge timing in accordance with images such as characters, line drawings, photographs and forms high definition images which rarely undergo a variation in a hue and a color drift without changing the images to be formed by internal processing of the device. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a data analyzer 11 which analyzes density information relating to image data and the number of discharges per prescribed area, a control board 7 which receives image data from a computer 4 and generates reference ink discharge timing, sets the amount of drift on the basis of the result of the analysis when the data analyzer 11 analyzes the image data, a lookup table 8 which stores the amount of drift set by the control board 7, a head driving circuit 12 which receives ink discharge timing generated by the control board 7 by adding the drift to the reference ink discharge timing and image data, and a plurality of recording heads 3 which discharge inks on the basis of the ink discharge timing by the control of the head driving circuit 12.
