PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft for conveyance being light in weight and having excellent resistance to chemical. SOLUTION: In this shaft for conveyance manufactured by impregnating thermosetting resin in a plurality of glass yarns, hardening the thermosetting resin through a heating mold, and drawing it into a predetermined outer shape, glass fibers constituting the glass yarn contain SiO<SB>2</SB>of 54 to 65 wt.%, ZrO<SB>2</SB>of 14 to 25 wt.%, and Na<SB>2</SB>O of 10 to 17 wt.% as essential components.
