摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OCB mode liquid crystal display device which has high display quality and high reliability by suppressing display defects such as display unevenness due to non-uniformization of ions in a liquid crystal layer. SOLUTION: The OCB mode liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal layer LQ held between an array substrate 12 and an opposite substrate 14, a display part 10A comprising a plurality of display pixels PX arranged in a matrix, and a peripheral part 10B surrounding the display part 10A. The array substrate 12 has pixel electrodes PE disposed correspondingly to respective display pixels PX, and the opposite substrate 14 has an opposite electrode CE facing the plurality of pixel electrodes PE, and is provided with a pair of alignment films 16 which are disposed on the plurality of pixel electrodes PE and the opposite electrode CE respectively and control the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules included in the liquid crystal layer LQ, by rubbing processing, and the peripheral part 10B has a spray area A1 where liquid crystal molecules are sprayed, at least the terminal side in a rubbing direction of the alignment films 16.
