PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal gear type grindstone which stably maintains good sharpness of ultra-abrasive grains, prevents scratches caused by fractures particularly at tips and ridges of the ultra-abrasive grains, and can achieve finishing work of a gear to be ground with high quality, without carrying out after-grinding work by a honing stone. SOLUTION: The internal gear type grindstone 1 has a gear type grinding section 3 formed by fixing ultra-abrasive grains on an internal surface of an annular base metal 2. The ultra-abrasive grains are fixed to the base metal such that a 111 plane out of crystal planes are arranged almost along a tooth surface 4A of a tooth profile 4 which the grinding section 3 forms, in a manner being opposed to a tooth surface of the gear to be ground.
