A wash stand having a separable filter device is provided to cut off stench flowed backward from a water pipe by placing a filter device with a filter net for collecting impurities and a cap connected with a link. A water pipe(111) is formed with an upper inlet(111a) with a large diameter, and a lower inlet(111b) with a small diameter. The lower inlet is opened and closed by moving a lid(131) of an opening and closing device(130) longitudinally. A filter device(120) is inserted in the water pipe through the upper inlet and placed on the lid. A cap(123) of the filter device is interlocked by longitudinal operation of the lid to open and close the upper inlet of the water pipe. The filter device includes a filter net(121), a cap, a link(125), and a plurality of connecting members(133) vertically moved by transferring the operating force of an operating button to the lid.
