摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake-exhaust system of an engine for improving the regeneration performance of an exhaust emission control device, while enhancing a temperature rise effect and a heat insulating-heat reserving characteristic at an outer peripheral part of a catalyst carrier of the exhaust emission control device. <P>SOLUTION: This intake-exhaust system has an EGR gas flow passage 20 for returning exhaust gas again to an intake system of the engine 1 by taking out a part of the exhaust gas from an exhaust system, an EGR gas cooler 22 arranged in the EGR gas flow passage 20, exhaust turbines 9b and 10b arranged in the exhaust system for driving superchargers 9 and 10 arranged in an intake system, and the exhaust emission control device 15 having the catalyst carrier 14 arranged on the downstream side of the exhaust turbines. A catalyst carrier outer peripheral gas flow passage 23 running along the outer periphery of the catalyst carrier 14 is arranged on the upstream side of the EGR gas cooler 22 of the EGR gas flow passage 20.
