<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To incorporate a composite interface capable of both of contact communication and noncontact communication for performing reading/writing from/to a memory storing information about a consumable replacement unit and to reduce voltage applied to an IC circuit even if static electricity is applied between terminals during contact communication. <P>SOLUTION: Both of the noncontact communication and the contact communication can be carried out by the same circuit. One end of a first contact communication signal line 124 is connected to one end part of an RF antenna coil 120, while one end of a second contact communication signal line 126 is connected to a position set in a 1/10-1/3 of the whole of a coil part from the one end part of the RF antenna coil 120. A direct current component between the first and second contact communication signal lines 124 and 126 becomes a low impedance, and even by application of static electricity between the first and second contact communication signal lines 124 and 126, an RF circuit 110, a logic circuit 108, and a nonvolatile memory 102 are not affected at all since a current flows through the RF antenna coil 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
