PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device in which packaging area of an actuator is small. SOLUTION: A coil for tracking of a rocking arm type actuator is arranged on an opposite side of an optical disk insertion opening for a line connecting a rotation center of an optical disk and a rocking center of the actuator and at almost 90 degrees to the arm. A pair of permanent magnets arranged opposite the coil for tracking are arranged so that polarities are reverse, the coil for tracking is arranged on the both permanent magnets so as to bestride a boundary of this pair of permanent magnets.
