PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device in which the nip width is made increased by use of a belt, the device being designed such that even in the case where a crown-shaped or inverted-crown-shaped roller is used as a belt extension roller, wear of belt is prevented for a long time, and hence image failure, nonuniform glossiness, and so on are prevented. SOLUTION: The image heating device includes: a heating rotator 23 that heats an image t on a recording material S by holding the recording material by sanwiching it with a nip N; a drive means M1 that drives the heating rotator; and the endless belt 27 extended by at least two or more rollers 28 and 29 and rotated while forming the nip between the heating rotator and the endless belt 27 itself. In the image heating apparatus, at least one of the rollers, 28, is the crown-shaped or inverted-crown-shaped roller in which a diameter difference between the axial middle and end is 1% or more and the surface roughness Rz in the circumferential direction is 0.8μm or less.
