PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing reduced glutathione, by which the reduced glutathione used for foods, medicines, cosmetics, and the like can simply profitably be produced in a good yield even in an aqueous solution without needing a special installation. SOLUTION: This method for producing the reduced glutathione is characterized by reducing oxidized glutathione in the presence of a copper compound, sulfur and hydrogen sulfide.
