PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hook block swing angle detector for a crane capable of accurately detecting a swing angle even when the swing angle is large. SOLUTION: The hook block swing angle detector for the crane detecting the swing angle of the crane having a boom disposed in a turning and derricking drivable manner on a base and lifting a load by a wire rope hanging down from a tip block disposed at the tip of the boom, is constituted by arranging a first bracket 6 supported in a swingable manner to the tip block 3; an intersecting bracket 11 supported in a swingable manner to an intersecting support shaft 7 supported to the first bracket 6; second blocks 13A, 13B supported to the intersecting bracket 11; a hook block 14 receiving the wire rope engaged with the second blocks 13A, 13B; and a tilt angle detecting means for detecting the tilt angle of the intersecting bracket 11.
