PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start control method of a compressor for a freezing/refrigerating showcase capable of improving working efficiency by confirming an operation of the compressor in a short time by immediately starting the compressor when the compressor can be immediately started from a stop state without problems, and protecting the compressor by preventing defective start by allowing a protective function to surely act, when a standby time is needed before restarting such as a case of instantaneous stop of power distribution. SOLUTION: In this freezing/refrigerating showcase where a refrigerating device such as the compressor and a cooler is disposed, a controller for a showcase is connected to control the operation of the freezing/refrigerating showcase, a protecting device is connected to the compressor, and the protecting device is operated to stop the driving of the compressor when the compressor is restarted immediately after its stop, the number of times of starting after the initial starting of the compressor is stored in the controller for the showcase in advance, and the compressor is immediately operated without stopped after restarting the compressor for the set prescribed number of times.
