PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply diversify setting of damping force, facilitate manufacturing, reduce restriction of material, reduce weight and improve durability in a piston for hydraulic shock absorber. SOLUTION: The piston 33 for the hydraulic shock absorber 10 includes a piston body 80 provided with a compression side channel 32A and a rebound side channel 34A in parallel, a compression side sheet 81 provided on one end surface of the piston body 80 and forming a seat surface 81A of the compression side channel 32A, and a rebound side sheet 82 provided on another end surface of the piston body 80 and forming a seat surface 82A of the rebound side channel 34A.
