PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retainer for a rolling bearing capable of inhibiting twist deformation of the retainer during high speed rotation and a rolling bearing using the retainer for the rolling bearing. SOLUTION: The raceway guide type retainer 14 for the rolling bearing provided with a pocket parts 15 mutually adjoining in a circumference direction and rollably retaining a plurality of rolling bodies 13, a pair of claw part 16 projecting in an axial direction on a circumference direction both end parts of an inner circumference surface of the pocket part 15, an opening part 17 formed between the pair of the claws for inserting the rolling bodies 13 into the pocket part 15. A column part 18 extending in an end part direction of the opening part 17 side is provided between the pocket parts 15. The column part 8 is extended in an axial direction in the end part direction of the opening part 17 side. A flange part 20 as a raceway guide part is provided with the extended part 19.
