PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine enabling a wear-resistant ring and a cooling body ring to be buried in the piston in a reliably connected state and manufacturable advantageously in productivity and cost performance. SOLUTION: The cooling body ring 20 is circumferentially divided into divided cooling body rings 25. A connection means 30 is used between each divided cooling body ring 25 and the wear-resistant ring 11. The connection means 30 is used to connect the divided cooling body rings 25 to the wear-resistant ring 11 by fitting one of the divided cooling body rings 25 and the wear-resistant ring 11 to the other in the radial direction of the wear-resistant ring.
