摘要 A junction material composition that reduces the anisotropy of Young's modulus of ceramic cement after hardening by the use of an isotropic filler without the use of any inorganic fiber, thereby realizing substantial suppression of cracking of end faces of the obtained honeycomb structure. There is provided a junction element comprising two or more junction objects unified together via a junction material layer, wherein when the Young's modulus along the direction perpendicular to the junction plane of the junction material layer is referred to as Ez and the Young's modulus along the direction parallel to the junction plane and parallel to the longitudinal direction of the junction plane referred to as Ex, the formula 0.5<Ez/Ex<1.5 is satisfied, and wherein the porosity of the junction material layer is in the range of 25 to 85%.
