PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability against a crack caused by thermal fatigue in a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This Rankine cycle system is used for an engine 2 having an EGR system of sucking exhaust gas again as EGR gas via an EGR gas passage 28, and has a first EGR gas heat exchanger 31 interposed in the EGR gas passage and cooling the EGR gas by engine cooling water, a first Rankine cycle heat exchanger 30 interposed in the EGR gas passage and vaporizing a Rankine cycle working medium by the EGR gas, and a Rankine cycle turbine 32 interposed in a Rankine cycle working medium passage 34 extending from the first Rankine cycle heat exchanger and rotatingly driven by the Rankine cycle working medium vaporized by the first Rankine cycle heat exchanger.
