PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a planting base made by connecting and molding an aggregate of wood narrow chips, and to provide the planting base enabling three-dimensional greening even on a slope or a wall through using wood narrow chips of forest thinned wood whose use development is especially demanded by molding the chips, and not only lightening but also diversifying the cross section. SOLUTION: This method for producing the planting base comprises: kneading wood narrow pieces of different forms such as crushed pieces, scrapings and sawdust with a connection adhesive which bonds the wood chips with each other to unite; and pouring the product into a porous container of a various shapes followed by hardening.
