<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a catalyst for a hydrolysis reaction, in the presence of which the desired hydrolysis reaction can be performed in high yield (at a high conversion rate) and to provide the catalyst obtained by this manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the catalyst for the hydrolysis reaction comprise a step of making metallosilicate coexist with nickel chloride dissolved in a solution at ≥70°C. The concentration of nickel chloride in the solution is preferably within 0.001-7 moles/L. When the concentration of nickel chloride is too low, the nickel content of the obtained catalyst becomes lower and the yield of the hydrolysis reaction is decreased. When the concentration of nickel chloride is too high, unnecessary nickel chloride is produced and the performance of the obtained catalyst is deteriorated. When the nickel chloride-dissolved solution is prepared, nickel chloride is added to a solvent, which is then agitated to obtain a homogeneous solution.
