摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery which has high capacity, which is superior in charge and discharge cycle characteristics, and which has a high reliability of safety or the like, and to provide its using method. <P>SOLUTION: This is the nonaqueous secondary battery in which a positive electrode having a positive electrode mixture layer, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte are provided, and the positive electrode contains three or more kinds of lithium-containing transition metal oxides different in the average particle diameter as an active material, three or more kinds of the lithium-containing transition metal oxides contains Co, Ni, or Mn as the transition metal element M<SP>1</SP>, and as for the lithium-containing transition metal oxide having the minimum average particle diameter, a part of the transition metal element is substituted by a metal element M<SP>2</SP>except the transition metal M<SP>1</SP>, and the density of the positive electrode mixture layer is 3.8 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more. In its using method, the nonaqueous secondary battery is charged so that positive electrode potential becomes 4.35-4.6 V at a Li reference potential when it is fully charged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
